MacBook Pros were design with the multimedia artist in mind, which means it’s the laptop of choice for people who work with audio, video, or large images as well as high-end applications. At this time, you are most likely aware of the design changes, which include a new "unibody" chassis, new buttonless multitouch trackpad, the addition of a mini DisplayPort, and the subtraction of the FireWire 400 port. Let’s take a closer look at the changes under the hood. We compared the current 15-inch model 2009 edition with the 15-inch Pro from 2008.

Pros:
Classic design; excellent overall performance; much improved graphics performance; bright and environmentally friendly screen; 2GB of RAM, which is expandable to 4GB.
Thin, rounded design; easier to service and upgrade; ecologically conscious; gorgeous, bright, glossy screen; retains FireWire port; large trackpad with numerous multi-touch gesture choices; great new keyboard.
Cons:
Just two USB ports and none of the fancy stuff like HDMI, eSATA, Blu-ray drive or even a lousy SD slot. Expensive.
No choice of screen finishes; trackpad button can be hard to press; disappointing battery life; some multi-touch gestures more difficult to maneuver than others.
Bottom Line:
A solid, if predictable, upgrade to the MacBook Pro line, but noteworthy for stealing the MacBook Air’s best feature–expanded gesture controls for the touch pad.
It’s typically well designed and houses some powerful components. However, the glossy screen will put off many corporate users, as will the lack of an integrated DVI output.
