Pros: iPhone has the most advanced touchscreen OS Great communication features such as desktop-class email and web browsing by adding MobileMe and Exchange support. It has App Store, which gives you access to a gigantic library of third-party applications to add features such as controlling your iTunes, instant messaging, 3D gaming and To Do lists. Wi-Fi reception is awesome with new Airplane mode that turns off cellular but powers up Wi-Fi for airline internet
Cons: The camera remains just 2megapixel, with no flash or auto-focus. The on-screen keyboard is tricky even though it auto-corrects in body copy. Maps and web addresses searches can be a pain. Doesn’t support the cool apps like the NES emulators and video recording programs that don’t work through the SDK
Our Conclusion: iPhone 3G is a faster, smarter version of an already remarkable phone, and one that’s about to be buoyed by the arrival of a load of retail apps. The rounded casing feels good in hand. It has fast 3G connection which slashes web loading times by minutes to seconds. The GPS pinpoints to meters instead of blocks. The new software polishes the OS and opens the phone up to nearly unlimited capabilities through the countless programs. It is undeniably worth the hype with its entertainment, connectivity and productivity and with the price worth snaffling for.
